Raza Ahmad Rumi is a writer, policy analyst, and a journalist from Pakistan. Currently, he is a scholar in residence at Ithaca College, New York. He is also a visiting faculty at Cornell Institute for Public Affairs. Earlier, in 2016, he was visiting global faculty at Gallatin School of Individualised Study, New York University. He has been a fellow at National Endowment for Democracy, New America Foundation, United States Institute of Peace and is affiliated with Berkley Centre, Georgetown University. Raza is consulting editor at The Friday Times and a commentator for several Pakistani, regional and international foreign publications. In Pakistan, he also worked in the broadcast media as an analyst and hosted talk shows. In 2014, he moved to the United States after an assassination attempt. Prior to his career in writing and journalism, Raza worked at the Asian Development Bank as a Governance Specialist, an administrator in Pakistan's civil service and the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Kosovo. Raza is the author of 'Delhi by Heart: Impressions of a Pakistani Traveler', 'The Fractious Path: Pakistan's Democratic Transition' published by Harper Collins India. He has also edited a volume entitled 'The Role of Public Administration in Building Social Harmony' published by Asian Development Bank. His most recent book is a collection of essays entitled "Identity, Faith and Conflict'.
